2 W Sales Engineer Mechanical & Detailing - Automotive Aftermarket Division (SLS - 2W AAD)

Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will be responsible to promote and sell, through Consultative Selling Approach, a wide range of 3M Mechanical & Detailing Products to mainly Lubricant Industry, Automotive Retail Market, Chemical Industry, Authorized/ Independent Service Center/ Workshop and other related market. In addition, he/she will also have to work with distributors or setting up a new distribution channel to maximize sales coverage and to provide better customer services.The other tasks will be related to the following details:
- Establishment and Achievement of Objectives: Understand sales goals and assist Division Head and/or Marketer in establishing business plan for 3M Mechanical & Detailing. Coordinate efforts in order to fulfill quarterly and annual objectives. Reassess objectives and obstacles with Division Head as necessary. Achieve quarterly and annually sales targets and objectives.
- Sales and Marketing: Learn and apply business unit marketing policies, procedures and plans. Utilize selling process to achieve sales results. Learn to demonstrate and train external customers on product applications. Represent business unit products and services to customers and prospects. May provide appropriate sales support services to customers and distributors, based on level of knowledge. Proactively report all new or unusual pertinent market conditions, competitor activities, and product performance information to supervisor and/or Marketer.
- Coordination and Planning: plan and manage time and resources for effective coverage of territory, communications, and other responsibilities. Work within budget guidelines.
- Administration: Maintain and communicate account and prospect information, maintain company resources, and sales support materials.
- Leadership: Develop and establish relationships with accounts and prospects. Accept direction as appropriate.
- Development: Continuously expected to learn and improve skills relative to the market, products, applications and selling, administrative and other skills.
- Policy: Learn and apply the business unit's sales policies, practices and procedures.
- The job also requires performing other duties as assigned. Percentages of time spent on job duties are estimates and may vary for each job.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3-4 year of sales exposure in 2W (motorcycle) or 4W (Car) Market. Works independently on sales assignments of standard difficulty.
- Attaining sales exposure to handle Lubricant, Motorcycle Spare Parts and other Motorcycle component products will be an advantage.
- Familiar with Distribution Channel/ Network to Service Center / Workshop for Chemical Products or Motorcycle Spare parts Products.
- Requires basic influencing and communication skills, listening, interpersonal, negotiating, presentation, planning, administrative and coordinating skills, and analytical skills.
- Requires use of computers, including basic Personal Computer (PC) software, specialized sales software, and on-line sales support systems as required by the business unit.
